Sónar+D returns to Barcelona from June 12th to 14th, 2025, with a forward-thinking program dedicated to the intersection of creativity, arts, and technology in the age of AI. Held within Sónar by Day at Palau de Congressos de Fira Montjuïc, the festival will host more than 100 activities, including talks, performances, workshops, and installations.
This year’s edition focuses on three thematic axes: ‘AI + Creativity,’ exploring the influence of artificial intelligence on artistic production; ‘Futuring the Creative Industries,’ reflecting on future models and innovation for culture professionals; and ‘Worlds to Come,’ imagining alternative scenarios for technology, society, and the arts.
Sónar+D 2025 will feature key appearances from international artists and researchers like Libby Heaney (UK), Maria Arnal (ES), Tega Brain (AU), Rebecca Fiebrink (UK), Xin Liu (CN), and Albert.DATA (ES), among others. Highlights include the debut of Maria Arnal’s new AI-driven live show ‘Ama,’ the return of Argentina’s AudioStellar project, and the +RAIN Film Festival dedicated to AI-generated cinema.
In addition, the programme will host performances, masterclasses, and talks exploring non-Western musical traditions, neurohacking, quantum computing, and the future of digital sustainability.
