We burn alongside the motorway just a few hours after dawn. On the sting of the town now, Barcelona airport behind us, Elrow up forward. Stepping out of the automobile, the construction that greets us is an element DC10, half renegade backyard centre, fused with a robust component of multi-coloured psychedelia.

We wander by way of the mud, passing inside the primary gates, multicoloured camo netting shading the solar, sand beneath our toes and an enormous inflatable lizard swaying within the breeze. Ker Beach is the primary of the 2 outside levels to open. The dancefloor is all sand, the encompassing bars and burger vans decked with dried palm leaves. In the DJ sales space, embellished with pop-art magic mushrooms, resident Tini Gessler drops ‘Blizz’ by Tolstoi. Her sound is chugging, recent, not too arduous. The first ravers of the day are pouring in: largely younger Spanish youngsters in vests and denim cut-offs, plus just a few English ravers having fun with their first European clubbing trip.
