Barry Can’t Swim has revealed his sophomore album ‘Loner’, set for launch on July eleventh, 2025 through Ninja Tune. The announcement arrives alongside his new membership single ‘Different’.
The Edinburgh-born producer describes ‘Loner’ as his most private work to this point. “If my first album was a collage of all of the music I beloved and was impressed by rising up, then this album is essentially the most genuine expression I might supply of myself and my life over the previous 12 months,” he displays.
The album ranges from the Kali Uchis-sampled ‘Still Riding’ and membership anthem ‘Chosen’ to extra introspective moments in ‘Cars Pass By Like Childhood Sweethearts’. Opening monitor ‘The Person You’d Like to Be’ includes a distorted dialog between Barry and a pal.
Building on his debut album ‘When Will We Land?,’ Barry Can’t Swim has acquired Mercury Prize and Brit Award nominations. Placed in BBC Sound of 2025’s high three, he has offered out Brixton Academy exhibits whereas acting at Glastonbury.
